About Papaji's
Andy Dodd, resident Tea Master, has specially selected more than 60 loose-leaf teas for you to choose from. Working closely with Iain Webb, Head Chef, they have infused the tea into their local & ethically-sourced menu to bring you some tasty twists on English Classics.
Andy has over 14 years' experience as a cocktail bartender, working and managing many of Bristol's leading cocktail bars and restaurants over the years.
In pursuit of his passion and tea enlightenment, Andy has not only trained to become a Tea Master, but has also spent time working on Glenburn Tea Estate in Darjeeling. His passion for tea has led him to develop a range of tea cocktails to savour before and after your dinner.
Still working closely with Glenburn Tea Estate, Papaji's House of Teas is one of Glenburn's few UK outlets, so a donation will be made from the profits of every sale of Glenburn Tea to the Glenburn Welfare Trust, which helps to fund the three primary schools, one secondary school also the hospital and medical centres on the 1,600-acre estate.
Testimonials
"Jo and I would just like to thank you all for giving us a really fantastic night to remember. You ensured the party ran smoothly and was hassle free right from the very start. On the night the service was impeccable, the food delicious and the drinks/cocktails wicked. There was nothing to fault, we had a brilliant time and so did all our friends. Everyone has been saying what a fantastic venue, all now eager to return. We could not recommend Papaji's highly enough to anybody wishing to hold a party there - they are guaranteed a great night!" - Julia - May 2010
"Thank you to all the staff at Papaji's who helped to make my friends hen do a success. I was really impressed by the help you offered with my celiac and veggie friend's requirements (afternoon tea). The staff were very friendly and helpful. The chocolate mousse cake was delicious! I will recommend you to any future hen parties! Cheers again." - Rhiannon - March 2010
"Andy - thanks for the invitation: my friend and I found (tea tasting) very enjoyable and informative." - Tony Benjamin - Venue Magazine March 2010
"Cocktail-making at Papaji's was a refreshing change from the usual raucous, embarrassment of bog-standard hen nights. Andy was entertaining and informative, teaching us the history of the cocktails we made as the alcohol took affect!" - Roisin - February 2010
"Just a brief note to thank you very much for making last Saturday evening so much fun! Will really enjoyed his 21st birthday dinner party; it was quite a special occasion for all of us. Hope you go from strength to strength. With thanks." - Claire - February 2010
"Being five months pregnant, I was slightly apprehensive about attending a cocktail training hen day! The staff were very accommodating and made sure that I didn't feel left out - to the contrary, Andy ensured that my mocktails looked and tasted as good as the real thing." - Charis - February 2010
"I was really looking forward to my friend's hen party until I was told that we would be making cocktails! Not that I'm averse to drinking, but I have to be wary as a diabetic. There was no need to worry as the bar staff were able to accommodate and cocktails were adapted to meet my needs." - Jane - January 2010
"As a cocktail connoisseur, I was unconvinced that a tea house would be an appropriate place to learn about cocktails. However, I was very impressed with the extensive knowledge of the bar staff and the interesting cocktails that were on offer. In particular, the tea-inspired cocktails were tasty and an instant favourite amongst my friends." - Steph - January 2010
